Why are Alaskan politicians so messed up?

The new year is here, and a new decade. We have a new president, things are going to change for the better, and supposedly we're making progress and moving forward in some way. What throws this all in question are events like the amendment to the Clean Air Act proposed by the Senator of Alaska and backed by many coal and oil lobbyists. This amendment would strip the Environmental Protection Agency of its ability to regulate carbon pollution, letting the worst polluters completely off the hook. For decades, the Clean Air Act has kept millions of tons of pollutants out of our air and water and it's a law that polluters can't buy their way out of--or so we thought.

Why do we always regress? Remember when Reagan moved into the White House, the first thing he did was take down Jimmy Carter's Solar Panels? Remember Al Gore saying over 8 years ago how he wanted to put Detroit back in business building electric cars? We could be so far ahead. Instead the Clean Tech Revolution is passing us by while we're still fighting tooth and nail for the last drops of petrol. This is so embarrassing and uncivilized!

And whose behind it all? These messed up Alaskan politicians.
They want to shoot baby wolves and pollute the air and stop us from moving forward with new jobs and new industries. People like Lisa Murkowski and Sarah Palin would be for nuking the world if it would financially benefit oil/coal/Alaska. We need real leadership to put these crazy Alaskan ladies and the lobbyists that support them in a cold cave somewhere with wolves :)
